The guide distinguishes inventory, environments and datasets: each answers a different question. Inventory answers which resource exists; it does not replace environment configuration or test data.
A catalog, not a test runner
Use inventory to maintain references to the project’s technical environment. Do not use it to simulate load or claim a performance test ran: that format needs a real executor and its own evidence.
